Loft and attic space as part of your lease demise.

Just because you own your flat, that doesn’t mean you own the loft too!

In many leases, the loft space isn’t automatically included. This means you don’t own it or have rights to use it.

If you want to include the loft space in your lease, we can assist you. For instance, if you have a top-floor apartment in London with an attached loft/attic, you may want to maximise that extra space!

Imagine if the only way to access this space is through your apartment. To officially include it in your lease and register it with the Land Registry, thus boosting your apartment’s value significantly, you’d need to inquire about adding it. However, there might be a lease premium involved for the freehold owner(s) to grant you these rights.

We have experience in this area and recently helped one of our clients add loft space to their lease at zero premium cost from their freeholder.
